concept finding for the design of a an archaeological place of discovery 2003

Between the city of Braunschweig and the Harz, a mountain range in central Germany, Pfalz Werla north of Schladen is historically and archaeologically one of the most important places in the region of Braunschweig. After excavations made during the thirties to the sixties extensive results of the original situation of the place have been obtained.

The task was to expose the most impor-tant archaeological finds in a park-like space with a pleasant atmosphere making it accessible for visitors to access. Some of the parts belonging to the 10th century were supposed to be reconstructed in a certain way and exhibitions containing multimedia offers were to be done.
